Trauma Treatment

The human experience can be traumatic for many people, but some have challenging life experiences that change how they feel, think and function. Trauma survivors commonly need support, empathy, understanding, and evidence-based treatments to reduce their pain and suffering and to move forward with their lives. I have worked with individuals who have experienced a wide variety of trauma throughout my professional career, from childhood neglect and sexual and physical abuse to catastrophic accident survivors and individuals who have suffered complex traumas, domestic violence, and other relational traumas. I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support my clients in their recovery process, as well as more relational and psychodynamic approaches.

Often, my clients worry that their trauma will be too extreme or too severe to share with another human. Having my breath of experience, I can confidently share that I have seen almost every extreme of traumatic experience and am honored to be part of the recovery journey.  Other clients worry that their relational or early neglect traumas aren’t enough to be considered trauma or warrant treatment. I want to reassure those clients, too, that early developmental trauma from absent or neglectful caregivers or parents who were struggling with their own challenges can be equally impactful and are equally deserving of care.

My ultimate goal for all of my clients is to support them in reducing their suffering and improving their lives. I would love to be part of the team that helps you achieve those goals.
